Anirban Ghosh an India paddler from West Bengal
This story is about Anirban Ghosh an India paddler from West Bengal.
He came to train at our centre as spar for Sathiyan prior to Olympic prep. We had promised him that if he’s keen to move up in the sport and become a better player, we will support & work on him in depth, post Olympics.
Building to that, we have done good amount of work in his game and mentality over the last 8 M.His performance graph has improved with consistency in matches as his Forte.
He has steadily climbed up the Indian ranking in men and has moved into the top 6 from being in top 20 for the first time in his career.

We are confident that he will break into Top 4 and Indian team by next year.
We are glad to extend our support to him in this journey in realizing his true potential. He is a disciplined player ( though I sometimes feel he can work better

I am sure with recent good results, under his belt, he has got the self-belief and motivation to work deeper for the nationals and beyond.
Best wishes Anirban for your future,
Chief Coach & Mentor

Our star player G. Sathiyan won the men’s title for second time

Happy to share that the season has come to an end on a good note!
All is well that ends well, as the saying goes!

Our star player G. Sathiyan won the men’s title for second time and became National champ again in convincing fashion making a short work of Harmeeth Desai, his Indian teammate and ONGC teammate/batchmate by 4-0 scoreline.

ncluding the age category & Senior nationals our centre players won 4 Gold, 2 Silver, 3 Bronze in the U19/17/15 nationals.

We are happy with the results, given the fact that our Chief mentor & coach joined us back only on Jan 15th after serving as Chief National Coach for 8-month period ( was unavailable for our centre ) on Pro-bono basis.

Keep watching this space!
Some interesting announcements coming your way, soon!
A gratitude note : Post-Drona Award

With a deep sense of gratitude, my first, would obviously be about Sathiyan who stuck his gun-out for the last 9 long years ( though I have been into coaching for close to 2-decades ) despite all the pressures and powers that be..He knew that game and its development remains first always, to progress in the sport.
A lesson well-learnt and demonstrated for the younger crop of players to be and become tough. Many wrote him off even after his junior days but we have a created niche space to go places in the international arena & we are up for something really special in the next 9 years. His performance stood tall and we did it alone to rightfully earn me this award, though many say that it’s been delayed a bit.

He is a good human being and one of rare ones after Chetan Baboor. One of the rare coincidence btw them is, both are engineers. His small demeanor with strong intricate skills and a RELENTLESS will power has put the belief among every Indian player that anything is possible for them that believe.
Second, would be my pillar of support, my better-half Ms. Bhuvana and kids who have understood the sacrifices that I had to make even if that meant, I’m unable to give so much time for family commitments.

Third, would be my mom an academic teacher who went about her job without much recognition. This award is also in some ways a recognition of her contribution as a teacher in school & ofcourse my dad who has been a constant support in this journey.
This award is a pitspot to refuel towards my long & ordeal journey for an elusive Olympic medal. Lastly this award is a payback to my sport and my country that I love the most.
Many thanks to all my trainers/coaches @ Raman TT HPC & my knowledgeable guru’s for injecting Desh-bhakthi into my eco-system.

My journey continues, to strive to unlock the Next- Gen human potential in every athlete.
I have learnt more as a coach than as a player and I strive to keep learning.
For who said ” Sky is the limit ” to be continued….
Best wishes
Raman
